Medusa Lake is unique for its inhabitants, remnants of the Ice Age. Jellyfish, living here in Palau are found nowhere else. Thousands of years ago they were trapped in this lake, living in an environment without natural predators, they have evolved into totally new species that doesn’t have poisonous tentacles, thus it is possible to swim among the tens of thousands of jellyfish without the risk of burns.
